Some weeks on “No Soap, Radio!” (actually, most weeks, to be honest) find me favoring music of a more melancholy vein. This isn’t out of some particular morbidity so much as it’s just what I think goes best with those late night hours. Other weeks, however, I find myself playing a mix of tunes more suitable to late night partying and carousing with friends. This go around, I was deviating towards the latter. It seems the audience enjoyed the change of pace, too. At least, the callers I got expressed their appreciation.
Generally, everything went as smoothly as it always does, aside from one major kerfuffle: around two thirds of the way through the show, the WTJU website started timing out. I hadn’t done anything unusual, just refreshed the browser window to update the playlist, and things just would not load. That issue never resolved itself during my show, but it wound up being fixed something in the morning. Still, it didn’t impact the online stream, which I was still able to access on my phone, so I just attributed to a weird server issue or something.

Alright! Here’s the playlist from this past weekend’s “No Soap, Radio!” It’s a primarily acoustic, upbeat and happy affair, although it does delve a bit into the electronic end of things towards the second hour. I think it fit in quite well with the weather we’ve been having lately and judging from the number of callers, there were a lot of people enjoying being able to stay up late and party outside.
I did neglect to upload a playlist last week, for which I apologize. I’ve been incredibly swamped between work, school and taking care of things at home, so the vast majority of the little free time I have available has been spent trying to get six hours of sleep a night. Thankfully, the semester ends in a couple of weeks, so my schedule should clear up immensely and I’ll even be able to start posting non-music related writings.

I do apologize for how late this playlist is uploaded, but this has been a rather busy week for me. Fortunately, the songs I chose last week were rather upbeat and fun, so anyone hoping to give them a listen will be pleased. I also took a slight divergence from the cabaret of late, and you’ll hear an even further-off mix of tunes this coming weekend.
